We are immensely proud that the Department of Education designated Burley and Woodhead CE Primary as one of the 34 English Hub schools, in recognition of our expertise in teaching reading.
Our role, as a Hub school, is to support schools in their surrounding area in order that they can promote a love of reading, and provide excellent teaching in phonics and early language. The focus of the work of English Hubs is to ensure that every child is successful in reading, regardless of background, needs or abilities.
In our role, we work in partnership with schools in Bradford, Craven, Richmondshire and Hambleton to promote a love of reading and excellent teaching of early language and systematic synthetic phonics. You can find out more about the English Hub at our dedicated website:
