Co-opted Governor (HR),

Mrs M Brooks

Foundation Governor

SEN Governor

Mrs J Siddall

I have 20 years experience of working in education, teaching in schools in Wakefield, Leeds and the Caribbean.  I have also worked for Education Leeds, carrying out writing moderation in schools across the city and delivering English training.  I have experience of sitting on the Governing Body of previous schools where I have worked. I started as the Headteacher of Burley and Woodhead CE Primary in September 2015.  During that time, I have had strategic responsibility for the school finances, premises, curriculum development, staffing, safeguarding and health and safety.    In addition, I successfully applied for and set up the Burley Woodhead English Hub, one of 34 schools across the country who lead on phonics and reading.

Mr M Selby

Foundation Governor

Finance Committee Member

Mental Health Governor

RSE Link Governor

Mark has been involved with Burley and Woodhead since 1995 with two children passing through the school and since then, through Church links, retained a role as a foundation Governor. Mark runs his own consulting business working in the regulatory framework for environmental and consumer safety of chemicals, advising Government agencies and Industry.  A large part of this work is training and teaching skills learnt from professionals in school has proved invaluable.

Running a business also allows for flexibility in working times and this permits time to support school and to get involved in school trips and other activities. Business skills, such as working to regulatory frameworks and financial reporting cross over with requirements in supporting school.

Mr T Wade

Member of Finance Committee,

SIAMS Governor

With one child in KS2 and another who joined Reception in 2020, I am deeply committed to the long term success of the school. Whilst I currently work in the private sector, running my own small business, I have over five years experience working at a senior level within local government. This experience ranges from financial oversight and planning to procurement and project management. I have always been deeply impressed by the attitudes and behaviours which are encouraged and promoted by the school, and I hope to support this in any way I can.

Mrs Linda Spinks

Mr C Tindall

Co-opted Governor

Health & Safety Governor

My name is Chris Tindall and my wife, Anne, and I have lived in Burley for over 25 years. I have a close connection to Burley Woodhead C of E School as our 4 children attended the school.

My working life has always revolved around buildings and people having spent 25 years as a Housing Manager in Social Housing in Leeds and more recently as Facilities Manager at St Mary's School, Menston.

Mrs Alison Ward

Parent Governor

I have a child in reception and have been so impressed with the school since our very first tour before applying for a place.

My professional background is in accountancy, project management and software implementation, with specialisation in HR and Payroll.

I feel that over the period of pandemic and lockdown, the school has outperformed others in the area - in terms of education, safety and welfare of the staff and children.

I’m delighted to be appointed Parent Governor and look forward to supporting the school in any way I can.
