Letting the school know
If your child is ill, please let the school office know by 9:00am on the first day of absence, by phone or email and let us know how they are poorly. During the coronavirus (COVID19) outbreak it is essential you do not bring your child to school if they, or a member of your household, has a high temperature, continuous cough or is experiencing a loss of taste and/or smell. Please see our coronavirus (COVID19) pages on this website for detailed guidance.
It is essential your contact numbers are up to date, so that we can get in touch if your child is ill or does not arrive in school.
If your child has sickness or diarrhoea, in consideration to other children and staff,
we ask that you keep them away from school for 48 hours to stop any viruses spreading.
After one day of absence we will assume (s)he continues to be absent for the same reason on any subsequent days.
If your child is going home with someone else, please write a note to their class teacher - it saves confusion. If you collect your child, please inform the school if your know you are going to be delayed.
If there are any changes in home circumstances which might affect your child at school, please let us know so that we can keep a careful eye on them. We will, of course, treat any such information with sensitivity.
If your child has any medical condition which may affect them in school, for example asthma or allergies, please let us know. Parents/carers must complete authorisation forms in the school office before any medicine can be given or stored in school.
There are a variety of ways to get information to us, either telephone the school office on 01943 862739 or email firstname.lastname@example.org or alternatively send information with your child.
