Reception and Early Years

Miss Rew's Class

Our Early Years and Foundation Stage team is made up of an experienced teacher and 3 experienced TAs.

The focus of our reception curriculum is on language acquisition and developing purposeful talk. 

Our children rapidly and systematically acquire knowledge of phonics, which is applied in group reading sessions and enhanced with staff sharing a wide range of books, rhymes and songs.

The EYFS curriculum is sequenced and planned across all seven areas of learning, incorporating the 7 Burley Woodhead Mes.

Parents are strongly encouraged to support their child’s learning at home with focused workshops on our school approach to reading and learning.
